About the Role
We’re looking for a practical and motivated Commissioning Engineer to join our Control Systems team. You’ll play a key role in bringing industrial automation projects to life — installing, testing, and commissioning equipment for customers across the UK and Ireland.
This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with an electrical, mechanical, or maintenance background who enjoys solving problems on-site and is keen to grow their skills in automation and control systems.
Key Responsibilities
* Commission, test, and troubleshoot control systems on-site.
* Perform loop checks, I/O testing, and functional verification of automation systems.
* Make minor changes to hardware and software to resolve problems.
* Collaborate with project engineering teams to ensure successful project delivery.
* Complete commissioning documentation and test reports.
* Provide technical support and training to clients during handover.
* Ensure all activities comply with safety, quality, and company standards.
Skills and Experience
* Practical experience (minimum of 2 years) in electrical, mechanical, or industrial work (e.g.
maintenance, installation, or service).
* Strong hands-on and problem-solving skills, with good attention to detail.
* Ability to read and understand basic wiring diagrams or engineering drawings.
* Willingness to learn about automation, PLCs, and control systems (full training provided).
* Good communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude.
* Enjoys working as part of a team and takes pride in doing quality work.
* Flexible and happy to travel to customer sites, working a mix of days and nights.
Desirable
* Some experience with automation, instrumentation, or industrial systems.
* Familiarity with any PLC brands would be an advantage, but not essential.
