Job Title: EC&I Commissioning Manager - Electrical, Controls & Instrumentation
Location: Reading, UK
Rate: Negotiable
Clearance: SC - Requires willingness and eligibility to obtain
We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced EC&I Commissioning Manager to join our clients Defence project in Berkshire. This is one of the most complex and challenging infrastructure projects in the UK, and we're looking for someone with the technical expertise and leadership skills to help deliver the successful commissioning and demonstration of specialist equipment, building services and control systems required to operate the facility.
As an EC&I Commissioning Manager, you'll oversee commissioning activities across a range of systems including BMS, HVAC, and Process Plant Equipment, primarily based on Siemens S7 PLC systems. You'll manage the production and approval of commissioning documentation, ensure safe testing procedures are followed, and resolve issues identified during commissioning. You'll witness Factory Acceptance Testing, Setting to Work, and Site Acceptance Testing, while coordinating commissioning tests with suppliers and integrating them into the overall project programme.
You'll be responsible for delivering commissioning work packages, preparing progress updates, managing changes to schedules and resources, and chairing reviews with stakeholders.
Essential Requirements:
Strong EC&I commissioning experience, particularly with BMS systems, vent plant, or similar
Experience managing commissioning teams and delivering complex projects
Background in defence or other highly regulated technical sectors
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Knowledge of commissioning methodologies and safety standards
Familiarity with Siemens S7 PLC systems and software documentation
Sound technical knowledge across electrical, mechanical, and process systems
Full UK driving licence
Degree or HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (or equivalent experience)
Current holder of SC or DV clearance, or willingness and eligibility to obtainAdvantageous knowledge in:
Low Voltage Electrical Distribution
Control System and Building Services design
Earthing & Lightning protection
Functional Safety (IEC 61508, 61511, 61513)
