Belcan is offering an exceptional opportunity for an experienced Commissioning Manager to join a major Defence project in Berkshire. This is one of the most complex infrastructure projects in the UK, and we're looking for someone who thrives in challenging environments and is ready to make a real impact.
Role Overview:
As a Commissioning Manager you'll play a pivotal role in the successful commissioning and demonstration of specialist equipment, building services, and control systems that are essential to the operation of this cutting-edge facility. You'll be advising on safety requirements, managing commissioning work packages and supporting the deployment of the overall commissioning strategy. You'll also be responsible for coordinating with suppliers, reviewing and approving test documentation and integrating commissioning activities into the broader project programme.
Your day-to-day will involve working closely with stakeholders, chairing reviews, managing changes to schedules and resources, and ensuring that commissioning activities are delivered to the highest standards. You'll be producing reports and capturing lessons learned.
Requirements:
Proven experience commissioning large facilities and leading commissioning teams
Strong background in electronic security systems (CCTV, access control, intruder detection, perimeter protection)
Solid understanding of design and delivery of enterprise security systems
Experience in complex project environments, ideally within defence or similar technical sectors
Demonstrable knowledge of commissioning methodologies and best practices
Degree-level education or equivalent professional experience
Current SC or DV clearance, or willingness to undergo vetting
