Job Description

Job Title: Communication Support Worker Location: Tameside Contract Type: Full-Time, Temporary to Permanent Minimum rate of pay: £16.11 per hour Start Date: September, (Trials immediately) Empowering Learning is proud to be working in partnership with a fantastic specialist SEN school in Tameside. We're currently recruiting for a Communication Support Worker to join their dedicated team, supporting students with a range of complex needs including autism (ASC), severe learning difficulties (SLD), and profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD). This is a rewarding opportunity for someone with experience in Makaton, British Sign Language (BSL), or other forms of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), who is passionate about helping young people communicate and engage with their learning. The Role: As a Communication Support Worker, you'll work closely with students who have significant communication needs. You'll provide 1:1 and small-group support using signing, symbols, visuals, or sensory approaches to help pupils express themselves and access the curriculum. You'll be supported by a strong, experienced team within a nurturing and well-resourced school setting that places communication and student well-being at the heart of everything they do.
