Community Safety Manager – South Gloucestershire Council
I am currently representing South Gloucestershire Council who are offering an initial temporary contract for a period of 6 months with a view to be extended or offered a permanent position for the right candidate at a rate of which is negotiable dependent upon experience.
We are looking for a HR Advisor which will be based at: County Hall, Chichester
You are responsible for leading and managing the Councils Community Safety service aimed at keeping our residents and communities safe, which includes preventing, and responding to a wide range of community safety priorities. You will provide strategic direction and support to the Council, Partners and the South Gloucestershire Community Safety Partnership acting as board advisor to the Executive Board and as Chair of the Steering Group. You will formulate plans, and implement targets and objectives in conjunction with the Office of the Avon & Somerset Police and Crime Commissioner, which will also ensure the Council fulfils their overall strategic objectives, and complies with current legislation and national policy frameworks to tackle crime and disorder.
Requirements:
* Degree in a relevant subject or equivalent relevant experience working in a community safety field.
* Relevant professional accreditation or the equivalent demonstrable knowledge, skills and proven experience in community safety.
* Expert knowledge in community safety, the relevant legislation and a public health approach to violence prevention.
* Experience in assessing threats and risks linked to high profile incidents, which can lead to community tensions and an escalation, with evidence of problem-solving techniques and resourcing to manage and de-escalate these.
* Financial and commercial acumen with experience of managing budgets and complex funding streams.
* Demonstrable knowledge, skills, and proven experience in delivering a wide range of community safety functions at a strategic and operational level.
