Job Description

We are looking for a friendly and reliable male Community Support Worker to join our team, supporting a young man who lives in Poole. You would also spend time at our supported living service in Southbourne, so being flexible and happy to travel between locations is important. In this role, you’ll be helping the people we support build confidence and independence—whether that means lending a hand with everyday tasks at home, getting involved in new hobbies, or supporting him to explore work and volunteering opportunities. If you're someone who enjoys making a real difference in someone's day-to-day life, we’d love to hear from you! ​Please note: Autism Unlimited does not provide visa sponsorship.​ To be considered for this role you must hold a clean Full UK driving license, however access to your own vehicle is not essential. ​ ​The role A big part of your working week would be support Tim - a remarkable person we support living in his own home in Poole. He communicates effectively through speech, but benefits from visual aids to help him plan and understand his day. Tim attends our Futures provision three days per week learning key skills to help prepare him for adulthood and so when he is at home we would very much like to continue this support. Tim loves getting out to the cinema, especially for the latest action or Marvel movies. But on rainy days, he’s just as happy staying in—watching YouTube, catching up on his favourite Marvel films, or challenging staff to a friendly board game. We are also supporting someone that is a very keen kareoke singer! Whether it's a chilled movie day or some lighthearted competition, there's always something fun to do! The additional support in our assisted living model could vary in terms of who you would be supporting. The plan for your week would be discussed at interview.​ As a valued member of our team, your role will involve a mix of meaningful support — from helping with daily routines like food preparation, shopping, and personal care, to accompanying the people we support as they access the community and pursue their interests. You may also assist with administering medication to ensure their wellbeing. ​ ​Hours: ​ This would be a mixture of shifts between 7am – 10pm, Monday – Sunday.
