Community Support Worker
Salary: £15.66 per hour (Umbrella)
Location: Rutland
Client: Rutland County Council
Contract Type: Temporary (3 months)
Hours: 37 hours per week (Day shifts)
Driving: Full UK licence required
About the Role: The Community Support Worker will provide care and support to adults with learning disabilities within a day service setting. The role focuses on promoting independence, inclusion, and wellbeing through meaningful activities, education, and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Provide high-quality care and support to adults with learning disabilities in a day opportunities environment.
Support individuals to participate in meaningful activities, employment, education, and community access.
Assist with personal care tasks, including washing, dressing, and administering medication.
Promote independence, choice, and dignity in all aspects of support.
Contribute to the planning and delivery of individual support plans.
Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with organisational policies.
Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external professionals to ensure positive outcomes.Experience & Knowledge
Experience supporting adults with learning disabilities in a care or community setting.
Knowledge of person-centred approaches and safeguarding principles.
Understanding of the importance of promoting inclusion and independence.Skills & Competencies
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with service users.
Reliable, empathetic, and adaptable approach to work.
Good organisational and teamwork skills.Qualifications
Relevant Health & Social Care qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 2 or equivalent) – desirable.
Mandatory care training certificates (e.g. Moving & Handling, First Aid, Medication Administration) – desirable.Other Requirements
Enhanced DBS check required.
Flexibility to meet the needs of the service.
