Job Description

Job Title: Junior Analyst - Customs & Trade Compliance Position Summary: The Junior Analyst - Customs & Trade Compliance supports the company's efforts to ensure full adherence to European and International Customs regulations, export control laws, and other relevant government agency requirements governing aerospace products and technologies. This role will assist the Global Trade Compliance and Logistics team in managing import and export processes, maintaining compliance documentation, and coordinating with internal departments and external authorities to enable the smooth and lawful movement of aerospace parts, materials, and components worldwide. Key Responsibilities: Assist in the identification and classification of aerospace parts and materials under the appropriate Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCN). Support the maintenance of trade compliance databases and record-keeping systems in accordance with EU, UK, and international customs requirements. Gather and verify information from engineering, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure accurate and compliant documentation for imports and exports. Support the preparation and submission of licenses, permits, and other export documentation in coordination with regulatory authorities, suppliers, and legal representatives. Assist in monitoring and advising on customs duties, taxes, and trade regulations applicable to aerospace products in various jurisdictions. Collaborate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and government officials to ensure the timely and compliant movement of goods. Track and maintain records related to export licenses, agreements, and authorizations, including expirations, amendments, and renewals. Participate in internal audits and compliance reviews to identify risks and opportunities for process improvement. Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, International Trade, Supply Chain Management, Aerospace Management, or a related field. Internship or prior experience (1+ year preferred) in aerospace trade compliance, logistics, or supply chain operations is advantageous. Familiarity with export control regulations such as ITAR, EAR, UK Export Control Order, and EU Dual-Use Regulations is a plus. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Understanding of aerospace industry trade and export control requirements. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret customs classifications and export control codes. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of ERP or trade management systems (e.g., SAP GTS, Amber Road) is beneficial. High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and record-keeping. Effective written and verbal communication skills for collaboration across engineering, legal, logistics, and regulatory functions. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a high-compliance, deadline-driven environment.
