Compliance Lead - Corporate Governance, Regulatory & Ethical Compliance
£Very Competitive Salary + Bonus + Benefits
Location: Dartford, Kent (Hybrid - 3 days on-site per week)
Are you a compliance professional ready to take ownership of governance and corporate risk across a global business?
We are recruiting a Compliance Lead for an international organisation specialising in advanced technology solutions for safety-critical environments. This newly created role offers the chance to build a proactive, business-led approach to compliance across multiple disciplines, including ethical standards, regulatory risk, sanctions, anti-bribery, ESG, and technical approvals.
What You Will Do
Design and embed a fit-for-purpose compliance framework across the organisation, supporting global operations in the UK, Europe, and internationally.
Advise senior stakeholders on business risk, regulatory gaps, and corporate governance best practices.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Legal, Product, Engineering, Finance, Operations and Sales to ensure that compliance is not just monitored but embedded.
Lead internal audits, gap assessments, and readiness planning for external certifications and investor due diligence.
Own company-wide compliance documentation, policy management, employee awareness and internal reporting.
Be the bridge between legal, regulatory, ethical and operational compliance needs - offering practical, business-friendly solutions.
Keep the business up to date with evolving global regulatory trends in sanctions, ESG, ethical supply chain, and trade/export controls. Why This Role Is Important
The company's technology is deployed globally, in safety-sensitive sectors - governance and compliance directly impact operational integrity and brand reputation.
With product innovation, investment, and geographic expansion accelerating, the business requires strong, embedded compliance leadership.
Compliance is shifting from siloed responsibility to a central pillar of board-level assurance and growth readiness. What You Bring
You are a certified compliance and ethics professional (e.g., CCEP or equivalent), with a track record of implementing risk and governance systems.
You may have a legal background or experience reporting into legal, audit or governance structures.
You have worked in regulated sectors (e.g., financial services, insurance, fintech, telecoms, engineering, automotive, or technology).
You're comfortable building a compliance culture from a blank slate - with confidence, pragmatism and credibility.
You can assess and communicate business risk clearly - not just ticking boxes.
You enjoy working cross-functionally and influencing without authority.
You are used to liaising with regulatory bodies, auditors, and senior leadership.Location & Logistics
