What You’ll Be Doing This is a hands-on role requiring both strong plumbing ability and an eye for compliance. You’ll be delivering a wide variety of tasks, including water hygiene remedial works, Legionella control, and general plumbing. You’ll also play a role in mentoring colleagues, supporting sales with accurate quotes, and ensuring clients receive the very best service. Your responsibilities will include: Acting as lead engineer for water remedial and plumbing compliance tasks across commercial and domestic client sites nationwide. Aiming for first-time fixes, ensuring work is completed efficiently and to the highest standards. Supporting the sales department with accurate and cost-effective quotations for remedial and plumbing work. Liaising directly with clients and site representatives to agree action plans and provide clear communication. Conducting remedial surveys to identify scope, materials, and costs, ensuring works are delivered within budget. Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and remedial tasks including: Temperature monitoring of hot and cold-water systems. Showerhead cleaning and descaling. Cold-water storage tank and calorifier inspections. Thermostatic mixer valve (TMV) servicing and installations. Water sampling for microbiological analysis. Clean and disinfection of water systems. Pipework modifications (copper and steel, including soldering). Installation of valves and removal of dead legs. Identifying and escalating compliance issues and non-conformances. Upselling or cross-selling additional compliance services when appropriate. Ensuring all work is carried out in line with company procedures, health & safety standards, and method statements. Accurately recording findings and recommendations using a digital compliance reporting system. Supporting the training and development of less experienced engineers. Representing the company in a professional manner and promoting its values on every client site. About You This role would suit a qualified plumber with compliance experience who enjoys variety, problem-solving, and working directly with clients. You should be technically confident, well-organised, and motivated to deliver high standards. Essential requirements: City & Guilds NVQ Level 2 Plumbing (minimum). At least 2 years’ experience as a qualified plumber. Ability to work across both commercial and domestic properties. Full UK driving licence. Strong technical knowledge of hot and cold domestic water systems. The ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Good communication skills, with the confidence to liaise directly with clients. Desirable (not essential): Legionella awareness or accredited training (City & Guilds preferred). Experience in Legionella compliance and remedial work. Additional compliance training such as Confined Space, IPAF, or Working at Height. Skills and Attributes Excellent time management and organisational skills. Strong attention to detail with a compliance-driven mindset. Ability to look beyond immediate tasks and spot potential non-conformances. Clear written and verbal communication. Confident producing accurate documentation and reports. Ability to mentor colleagues and lead small teams when required. Working Conditions Nationwide travel with some overnight stays required. Work will sometimes fall outside of normal hours (early mornings, nights, or weekends). Physically demanding work, including confined spaces and at height (full PPE provided).
