Job Description
Job Title: Computing Teacher (Maternity / Shared Parental Leave Cover)
Contract Type: Full-time, Fixed Term
Contract Dates: Monday 3 November 2025 – Thursday 12 February 2026 (inclusive)
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday
Location: Godalming, Surrey
Required: QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Computing Teacher to cover a period of shared parental leave from 3 November 2025 to 12 February 2026. The successful candidate will teach Computing to Years 7–11 (approximately 15 lessons per week) and provide general teaching cover for the remainder of their timetable.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive and collaborative teaching team, delivering engaging and high-quality lessons that inspire students to achieve their best in Computing and beyond.
Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality Computing lessons to students in Years 7–11.
*
Plan, prepare, and assess lessons in line with the school’s curriculum and assessment policies.
*
Provide effective classroom management and maintain a positive learning environment.
*
Undertake general teaching cover as required across other subjects.
*
Work collaboratively with departmental colleagues to ensure continuity and consistency of teaching.
*
Support and engage students in their learning to help them achieve their full potential.
Person Specification
Essential:
*
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
*
Proven experience teaching Computing across KS3–KS4.
*
Strong classroom management and communication skills.
*
Commitment to maintaining high standards of teaching and learning.
*
Availability for the full duration of the contract (including handover days).
Desirable:
*
Experience teaching GCSE Computing.
*
Flexibility to support across other subjects when required.
*
A collaborative and proactive approach to departmental and whole-school initiatives.
