Configuration Controller – Enfield
Perm role. Salary range £35,000 to £40,000.
Our client, a forward-thinking engineering business, is seeking an organised professional with a keen eye for detail and technical quality to join their team as a Configuration Controller. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping and managing configuration data and processes across a dynamic environment.
You’ll be the primary point of contact for configuration management and technical data release in their ERP system (IFS Cloud Applications 11), helping drive improvements, accuracy, and compliance. If you thrive in technically challenging settings and enjoy being the centre of control, this role could be an ideal match.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Administer the daily release and change control of technical data within the business ERP system and coordinate the authorisation process. That includes, engineering part structures, bills of materials, drawings, documents, software, etc.
* Manage the end-to-end change and deviation request process.
* To act as a technical focal point for matters relating to ERP controlled documents and parts, such as, change requests, deviations, build standard definitions, engineering part revisions, etc.
* Develop and maintain the Configuration Management processes, procedures, and daily ERP configuration control. Providing training and guidance in respect of.
* Create and maintain ERP document basic data, such as approval templates, document classes, document numbering, etc.
* Maximize configuration functionality within the ERP system, for improved efficiencies.
* Establish and maintain methods to cleanse legacy part and document data within the ERP system.
* Produce Configuration plans and submissions in support of new contract proposals and project life cycle.
* Attend software release meetings and maintain ERP version control and the software repository.
* Attend design review and release meetings, as appropriate.
* Maintain Hellios JOSCAR (Joint Supply Chain Accreditation Register) membership on behalf of the business.
* Maintain documents relating to on-going certification to ISO and TUV SUD Marine Equipment Directive (MED) Module D, etc.
* Take a key role in the implementation of ERP system improvements, phased testing and upgrade projects.
* Support to QMS audit program.
* Support to other tasks associated with this role.
What You’ll Need
* Fluent English (both verbal and written).
* Attention to detail.
* Good organisation and communication skills.
* Excellent document creation skills.
* Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint.
* Knowledge of IFS Cloud Applications 11 would be beneficial.
* Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System, would be beneficial.
* Auditor experience ISO 9001:2015, would be beneficial.
* Experience in configuration management or control, preferably in a similar industry or company undertaking MoD / Defense type contracts.
* Experience of working with ERP systems (such as, IFS Cloud Applications 11, SAP 4 HANA, etc.).
* Project management skills.
