Role: Configuration and Baseline Engineer (F-35 training database)
Location: RAF Marham, King's Lynn (full time on site)
Contract: 12 months
Positions: 2
IR35: Inside IR35
Clearance: BPSS, with ability to gain/hold SC (or already SC cleared)
Rate: £35.00 PAYE per hour or £47.12 Umbrella per hour

Overview

We are recruiting for a Configuration and Baseline Engineer to support a critical training capability within a major defence environment. You will help manage and optimise an F-35 training database, ensuring training data is accurate, controlled, accessible, and compliant with governance requirements. The role blends database administration, configuration management, and training systems expertise (ISD and DSAT).

Key responsibilities

Administer and maintain a Microsoft Access training database (configuration control, backups, troubleshooting)
Apply Instructional Systems Design (ISD) and DSAT methodologies and produce associated artefacts
Support curriculum development, evaluation, and continuous improvement
Engage stakeholders and manage issues via Jira
Analyse training data and produce reports to support performance improvement
Carry out configuration management using tools such as Perforce / Helix Core

Essential experience

Strong MS Office capability, including Microsoft Access
Experience with Systems Approach to Training (SAT)
Training assurance process experience
Comfortable making decisions independently and managing competing priorities
Experience working in aviation or defence training environments
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

Desirable

Working knowledge of DSAT (JSP822)
Familiarity with export controls and ITAR considerations
Experience working with multi-contractor environments
