Job Description

First People Solutions are working with a leading EPCM firm who require an experienced Construction Area Supervisor on a 7 month long (Likely to be extended) large scale industrial construction project in North Ayrshire. You will: Lead daily briefings, shift handovers, and permit releases, ensuring all information is accurately recorded. Participate in site planning meetings, applying findings to manage labour allocation and workflow in the assigned area. Work with logistics teams to maintain clean and organized work areas. Coordinate material deliveries and availability, using short-term scheduling to support project milestones. Oversee and coordinate all construction activities to ensure smooth progress. Keep a detailed log of daily work, issues, and progress. Ensure plant and equipment are safe, fit for purpose, and properly inspected before use. Track progress against the project plan, participate in short- and medium-term planning, and recommend solutions for potential delays. Conduct safety and quality checks, audits, and risk assessments to ensure compliance with standards. Monitor the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), access routes, and waste management practices. Review and contribute to engineering designs, technical specifications, and project documentation. Identify risks and implement strategies to mitigate them. Oversee temporary works, including lighting, scaffolding, barriers, and power setups. Maintain and manage site access controls. Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement across the site. Actively enforce safety policies, conduct inspections, and implement corrective actions where necessary. Maintain hands-on engagement with trades, ensuring work is performed safely and in accordance with approved method statements. Provide support to other supervisors and help resolve any quality or safety issues that arise. Qualifications Relevant trade qualification (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds). CSCS Gold card or equivalent. Construction supervision certification (SSSTS minimum; SMSTS preferred). Temporary Works Supervisor (TWS) certification is a plus, but not essential. Experience Proven experience supervising complex industrial projects. Experience in EPCM or similar construction delivery environments.
