We are working with a leading provider of innovative and sustainable water treatment engineering systems operating in Ireland, UK and across Europe in the Data Centre, Pharma, Power and Industrial sectors. We specialize in designing, installing, commissioning, and maintaining water treatment solutions to meet our clients' specific needs. Role DescriptionThe Construction Director will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of all on-site construction activities related to the water treatment scope on a large data centre project. This includes oversight of subcontractors, health and safety compliance, schedule management, quality control, and alignment with client and internal project goals. This is a pivotal leadership role requiring strategic vision, technical expertise, and exceptional project execution skills.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee all construction activities related to the water treatment plant for the data centre project, ensuring safe, timely, and cost-effective delivery.
Provide leadership to the site-based project and construction management teams, including subcontractors and suppliers.
Work closely with design, procurement, and commissioning teams to ensure alignment across all project phases.
Develop and manage the construction program, identifying risks, opportunities, and recovery plans as needed.
Ensure full compliance with all regulatory, client, and company health, safety, and environmental standards.
Interface with client representatives, consultants, and other contractors to maintain effective communication and collaboration.
Oversee progress reporting, budget control, and change management
Drive quality assurance practices to ensure that construction meets design specifications and client expectations.
Lead constructability reviews and support value engineering
Mentor and develop junior construction staff and ensure alignment with organizational
Required Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Construction management, Mechanical Engineering, or related
Minimum 10–15 years of relevant construction leadership experience, ideally in water treatment, industrial utility systems, or large MEP-intensive projects.
Proven experience in managing major infrastructure or hyperscale data centre projects is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of process piping, water treatment technologies, and high-specification industrial construction standards.
Demonstrated track record of delivering complex projects safely, on time, and within
In-depth knowledge of construction contracts, project controls, and regulatory
Exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication
Ability to work in high-pressure, fast-paced environments with multiple stakeholders
