Our client is an internationally renowned Principal Contractor working within the UK construction and infrastructure market. They provide turnkey solutions across Major Projects within rail and infrastructure, including design, engineering, project management, construction and maintenance solutions.
They are currently recruiting for a construction Plant Coordinator, to join their established Procurement Team on a major infrastructure project in the West Midlands.
Construction Plant Resource Coordinator roles and responsibilities:
Reporting into the Procurement Manager, and as a key member within the procurement team, you will have key role in the ordering, placement and management of plant and equipment to the various projects, and ensuring clear communication between site and suppliers.
Arranging the hire of all internal and external plant as required by the projects and contracts.
Accurately on hire and off hire all plant, and inputted onto the system.
Ensure an auditable trail is in place for equipment and rentals.
Measure and ensure the correct level of service is being given from suppliers and notify the Procurement Manager if a supplier is not performing to the required standard.
Actively track the current location of all tools and keep the contract plant trackers up to date.
Timely communication of any plant shown on the hire sheet that is not found / proved as off hired, and that all discrepancies are to be investigated and addressed immediately.
Daily management of any plant queries, liaising with management and site as required to resolve.
Keep accurate and up to date records of all repair costs, losses and damages.
Ensure compliance with all documents, including procedures and carry out regular plant audits.
Report and complete any paperwork for thefts/loss or damage of plant items.Construction Plant Resource Coordinator requirements
Previous plant coordination experience, working on construction &/or infrastructure projects is essential
Experience of working on an ordering / plant hire desk advantageous
Knowledge of the PUWER / LOLER regulations
Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, and
Demonstrable commercial awareness, with the ability to control and monitor budgets
Good communication skills with regard to engaging with internal and external stake holders
Ability to demonstrate attention to detail with regard to contractual obligations and the placement of ordersConstruction Plant Resource Coordinator benefits:
