Van Driver / Delivery Operative
Summary
We’re recruiting a Site Van Driver/Labourer with a valid driving license and CSCS card to support a new construction project. Based on site, you’ll be responsible for transporting materials between the main logistics hub and various buildings across the project. This role is ideal for someone with van driving experience, who is organised, punctual and able to work within strict safety and security guidelines.
Rates of pay:
Mon-Fri 1st 37.5hrs - £12.71 working rate + £1.78 holiday credit = £14.49 Total payable
Midweek overtime & Sat 1st 6hrs - £19.07 + £2.30 holiday credit = £21.37 Total payable
Sat after 6hrs & Sun = £25.42 + £3.07 holiday credit = £28.49 Total payable
Location and Working Pattern
Site-based – Market Harborough, Leicester
Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 4:30pm
Client Overview
Our client is delivering a major new-build project requiring strict compliance with site security and health and safety standards.
Responsibilities
Drive the company van to deliver materials safely across the site each day
Load and unload materials securely, ensuring compliance with site instructions
Accurately manage delivery notes, checking and returning documentation as required
Complete deliveries efficiently, following site schedules
Maintain a clean and tidy van and report any charging or mechanical issues
Put the electric van on charge every evening as per site procedure
Follow site security and health and safety rules at all times
Report to the Logistics Manager with daily updates on deliveries, issues or delays
Support additional logistics or stores tasks as needed
General labouring as and when requiredMust-have Requirements
Full, clean UK driving licence
Previous experience in a van driving or delivery role
Knowledge of safe loading and unloading practices
Ability to follow instructions and adhere to schedules
Physically fit and capable of manual work
Reliable and punctual with good communication skills
Valid CSCS cardNice-to-have Skills
Experience working on construction or secure sites
