Their specialist construction team handles large-scale, multi-million-pound infrastructure, transport, commercial and residential projects. As part of the firm's leading commercial real estate practice, they provide expert non-contentious construction advice to public and private clients, including developers, funders, hotel owners and public bodies. The team is also recognised for delivering training and producing construction law materials for clients and industry groups.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Join a specialist construction team working alongside an experienced partner with expertise in non-contentious construction law, focusing on hotel, commercial property and infrastructure sectors.
* Handle all aspects of construction procurement, professional appointments, warranties, bonds, insurance and due diligence on complex transactions including development agreements, funding, sale and leaseback and forward funding arrangements.
* Gain exposure to prestigious, high-profile projects with national and regional reach.
* Draft, review and negotiate bespoke construction contracts and related documentation.
* Advise a broad range of clients, including developers, funders, public bodies, contractors and consultants.
* Collaborate with colleagues across real estate, finance and regulatory teams on multidisciplinary transactions.
* Support due diligence and construction audits for major development projects.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
* Minimum 1 year PQE with a focus on non-contentious construction law; experience in infrastructure and transport projects desirable
* Strong technical knowledge of construction procurement methods and standard contract
* Experience advising on construction aspects of commercial property, infrastructure and hotel projects
* Ability to engage effectively with diverse client groups across public and private sectors
* Enthusiasm for growing within a specialist construction team
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Excellent IT skills
