Job Title: Construction Supervisor (EC&I)
Location: Liverpool
Contract Duration: 6 months +
Hours: 45 hours per week
Rate: £45–50 per hour LTD (subject to an IR35 assessment confirming outside status)
Role Overview
Reporting to the Construction Manager, the Construction Supervisor (EC&I) will oversee electrical, control, and instrumentation construction activities on-site. You will ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and in compliance with specifications. The role involves close collaboration with contractors, vendors, and other discipline leads.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate EC&I construction activities to meet project plans and engineering designs.
Monitor contractor performance, ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and productivity standards.
Review and interpret EC&I drawings, specifications, and schedules.
Ensure installation works comply with UK regulations, industry standards, and client requirements.
Manage interfaces between EC&I and other disciplines in collaboration with the Construction Manager.
Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure HSE compliance.
Resolve technical issues and construction queries with engineering teams.
Track progress and report on EC&I construction milestones, risks, and issues.
Support commissioning and handover activities as required.
Maintain accurate documentation and records of EC&I construction activities.Requirements – Education and Experience
Proven EC&I supervision experience on industrial or refinery projects, preferably in the food or process industries.
Strong knowledge of UK electrical and instrumentation standards and regulations.
Construction project experience in a supervisory capacity.
Relevant technical qualifications (HNC/HND or equivalent in Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering).
Knowledge of control systems (PLC, SCADA) and field instrumentation.
ECS/CSCS card or equivalent certification.
Strong communication and leadership skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams.
Experience preparing and reviewing Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
Flexibility to work back shifts or weekends as required.Desirable / Beneficial
Experience in palm oil or similar agro-industrial processing facilities.
Familiarity with ATEX installations and hazardous area classifications.
Knowledge of construction quality management, testing, inspection, and reporting processes.
