Salary: £170-£260 per day (dependent on experience)
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am-4:00pm
Brief description:
Teach practical construction skills to students in a supportive specialist school environment.
About the school:
Independent specialist school for learners aged 5-21 with social, emotional and mental health needs and moderate learning difficulties. The school provides a hands-on, vocational curriculum alongside therapeutic support.
About the role:
Deliver engaging construction lessons that develop practical skills, health and safety awareness, and teamwork. Support students to gain confidence and work readiness in a safe, nurturing setting.
We're looking for a dedicated candidate to:
Plan and deliver construction and vocational lessons
Teach health and safety, tool use, and building techniques
Adapt teaching to meet varied learning needs
Support positive behaviour and skill development
Collaborate with teaching and pastoral teamsRequirements -
The ideal candidate would have:
Relevant construction or vocational teaching qualification (e.g., PTLLS, City & Guilds)
Experience teaching construction or practical skills to young people
Understanding of SEMH and SEND education settings
Strong communication and classroom management skills
