Job Description

Evolve Staffing Ltd. is partnering with a major NHS hospital in Bristol to recruit a Consultant Gastroenterologist. This prominent medical vacancy requires a physician with comprehensive expertise in luminal gastroenterology, hepatology, and advanced endoscopy. The successful candidate will join a highly integrated gastroenterology department, managing complex gastrointestinal disorders, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), and liver disease, ensuring the highest standards of NHS patient care across inpatient wards and outpatient clinics.

Core Clinical Responsibilities:

  * 

    Lead specialised outpatient clinics focusing on general gastroenterology, IBD, and hepatology.

  * 

    Perform routine and complex endoscopic procedures, including upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, and potentially ERCP, within a JAG-accredited endoscopy unit.

  * 

    Conduct acute medical ward rounds, providing senior clinical decision-making for complex gastroenterological admissions.

  * 

    Engage actively in clinical audits, research initiatives, and the educational supervision of specialty doctors and junior medical personnel.

Essential Candidate Requirements:

  * 

    Full GMC Registration and entry on the Specialist Register for Gastroenterology (or within 6 months of CCT/CESR).

  * 

    MRCP (UK) or equivalent medical qualification.

  * 

    Demonstrable experience and JAG accreditation (or equivalent) in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy.
