Permanent Position - Continuous Improvement Process Engineer
Full-Time Day Shifts
Location: Redditch
Salary: £50,000pa
We are working with an established engineering business in Redditch, who are now looking to recruit a new position as a Continuous Improvement Process Engineer.
Job Summary
The Continuous Improvement Process Engineer is responsible for identifying, analysing, and implementing process improvements that enhance operational efficiency, product quality, safety, and cost performance. Using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies, this role works cross-functionally to eliminate waste, optimize workflows, and support a culture of operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
  * Process Map and define the contract review process
      * Expectations
      * Format
      * Key stake holders
  * Produce monthly reports to the senior management team of current projects, their progress, and the next projects on the horizon.
  * Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and risk-based thinking
  * Support internal and external audits by ensuring processes are documented, implemented, and effective.
  * Facilitate Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), and Root Cause Analysis activities.
  * Design and implement process improvements that increase productivity, reduce waste, and improve quality.
  * Assist in maintaining documented information and change control within the QMS.
  * Liaise with production, quality, maintenance, supply chain, and engineering teams to implement sustainable improvements.
  * Participate in internal audits and support compliance with quality management systems.
Qualifications Required:
  * Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
  * Proven experience in process improvement within manufacturing or engineering environment.
  * Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement principles.
  * Knowledge of AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality standards.
  * Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher desirable).
  * Experience in regulated or aerospace environments is advantageous.
  * Root cause analysis tools (5 Whys, Fishbone, FMEA).
  * Process mapping and documentation tools (Visio or equivalent).
  * Understanding of ERP systems (e.g. SAP).
  * Knowledge of quality tools including SPC and KPI monitoring.
