Build the Future with the UK's Largest Infrastructure Project
At Rullion, we're proud to support the delivery of Hinkley Point C - the first new nuclear power station built in the UK in over 20 years. As the site moves through a critical stage of mechanical and electrical delivery, we are now seeking a Contract Engineering Lead (CEL) to support complex manufacturing, design, and installation work across both the Nuclear Island and Balance of Plant.
This is a unique opportunity to be at the heart of a £30+ billion clean energy megaproject while making a lasting impact on the UK's energy future.
The Role
As a Contract Engineering Lead, you will be the technical interface between the Joint Design Office (JDO), contractors, designers, and construction teams. You'll oversee the technical performance of key contracts-especially those involving mechanical and rotating equipment-and ensure engineering deliverables are aligned with quality, schedule, and compliance requirements.
You'll be a pivotal figure in maintaining engineering responsiveness at site level, resolving complex queries quickly, and ensuring that construction is never held back by avoidable delays.
Principal Accountabilities
* Lead and coordinate technical meetings with contractors and internal stakeholders.
* Provide technical oversight for contract deliverables-design reviews, equipment qualification, change management.
* Manage the evolution of engineering design and ensure compliance with safety and site requirements.
* Work closely with project managers on resource, budget, and KPI reporting.
* Ensure clear, consistent communication with engineering disciplines, suppliers, and site teams.
* Mentor junior Contract Engineering Leads, sharing best practices across the team.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience
Essential Experience & Skills:
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
* Strong understanding of mechanical and rotating equipment (e.g. pumps, turbines, generators).
* Previous experience on complex engineering or infrastructure projects (nuclear, power generation, oil & gas, or process industries).
* Working knowledge of CDM regulations and construction safety.
* Proven ability to manage technical interfaces and resolve cross-disciplinary challenges.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
Desirable:
* Background in nuclear or highly regulated environments.
* Familiarity with PWR/EPR reactor systems.
* Experience using engineering/project systems such as UKDC, Teamcenter, CEMAR, or OPM.
* French language skills (written/spoken) a bonus.
Are you ready to be part of a project that's reshaping the energy landscape of the UK? This is your opportunity to make a significant impact on the construction of Hinkley Point C. If you have the skills and experience to lead this challenging endeavour, we want to hear from you.
What's in It for You
* Be Part of History: Work on the UK's first new nuclear power station in a generation.
* Scale & Impact: Over 22,000 workers contributing to a £36 billion project that supports 70,000+ UK jobs.
* Net Zero Future: Contribute to a project essential to Britain's low-carbon energy transformation.
