Job Description
We’re recruiting on behalf of a respected facilities management company who are seeking an experienced Roving Contract Manager to oversee the delivery of high-quality maintenance services across a portfolio of sites from retail parks to leisure complexes, educational establishments and commercial properties. This is a mobile position involving travel across multiple locations (Yorkshire, Northwest, Midlands), ensuring consistent operational standards, cost control, and strong client relationships.
As the primary point of contact for contract performance, you’ll ensure service delivery meets client expectations while maintaining profitability. You’ll also play a critical role in team leadership, financial management, and continuous service improvement.
Job details:
* Oversee day-to-day contract operations across multiple sites, ensuring efficient delivery of planned, reactive, and minor works.
* Monitor contractor and supplier performance to ensure service excellence and value for money.
* Ensure full compliance with statutory, client, and internal policies - including health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
* Manage the engineering teams, providing guidance, development, and support to promote a high-performing, motivated workforce.
* Maintain full P&L accountability across your portfolio, ensuring financial targets and KPIs are achieved or exceeded.
* Drive organic growth by identifying and acting on opportunities for up-selling or expanding services within existing accounts.
* Collaborate with the Commercial team and senior leadership to review underperforming contracts, subcontractors, or pricing models.
* Lead the development of monthly performance reports and analysis through the CAFM system.
* Oversee and resolve any aged debt issues by liaising with Credit Control and client contacts.
* Ensure staff on-boarding, training, and performance reviews are completed in line with company standards.
* Address Employee Relations (ER) matters appropriately with HR guidance, fostering a professional and compliant work environment.
Qualifications / Experience:
* Proven experience (3+ years) in Contract Management within Facilities or Maintenance Services (Essential).
* Level 4 qualification in a relevant field (Essential).
* Strong leadership and team development skills.
* Excellent communication and relationship-building ability.
* Commercially aware with full P&L management experience.
* Confident in decision-making and problem-solving under pressure.
* Technically competent and familiar with multi-disciplinary engineering services.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and digital CAFM systems.
* IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent H&S certification.
* Flexible to travel across the UK (with some overnight stays) - (Essential).
