Solidworks Contract Mechanical Design Engineer - Plastic Injection Moulding

Belfast (Hybrid)
Up to £47 per hour, outside IR35
6 month contract (likely extension)We're recruiting for a Contract Mechanical Design Engineer with Solidworks experience to support an established electronics manufacturer in Belfast.

This is a great opportunity to join a busy product development team working on high volume electronic products, with a strong focus on plastic injection moulded components and associated mechanical design.

You'll be working on a mix of 2D and 3D SolidWorks design work, supporting active development projects and helping to refine and update existing product designs.

What You'll Be Doing

Producing and updating Solidworks 2D engineering drawings
Carrying out Solidworks 3D CAD modelling and design refinements
Supporting the design and development of plastic injection moulded components
Working closely with a small engineering team on live product development projects
Contributing to the design of products used to house electronic PCB assembliesSkills Required:

Strong experience using SolidWorks
Experience producing both 2D drawings and 3D models
Background in designing plastic injection moulded parts
Good understanding of GD&T / geometric tolerancing
Previous experience in a mechanical design engineering roleDesirable:

Experience designing enclosures or housings for electronic PCBs
Experience working on electronic or electro-mechanical products
Background in manufacturing / product development environmentsContract Details

Location: Belfast
Working Pattern: Hybrid - 3 to 4 days on site, 1 to 2 days remote
Rate: Up to £47 per hour, outside IR35
Contract Length: 6 months initiallyA one stage interview can be quickly arranged
