Contract Technical Business Analyst - Settlements

Are you an experienced Technical Business Analyst with a passion for the financial services industry? Our client is seeking a skilled professional to join their team on a six-month fixed-term contract, focusing on the Settlement module of a modern, agile, real-time securities back-office platform.
What You Will Be Doing:
In this role, you will provide critical technical business analysis support for both product and client-led change projects. Your primary focus will be on the Settlement module of the Post Trade Processing platform. Specifically, you will:
Collaborate closely with the product manager, development, and QA teams throughout the software development life cycle to plan and agree on solutions, ensuring effective communication with relevant stakeholders.
Assess the impact of new product features on the application and facilitate the breakdown of product requirements into technical work items.
Liaise with internal product and development teams to capture and document cross-requirements as necessary.
Produce essential change documentation, such as use cases, acceptance criteria, and technical specifications, outlining product needs.
Create, update, and maintain product feature specifications as required.
Work with professional services and implementation teams as needed.
Collaborate with other business units to support product or client-specific developments and regulatory or industry initiatives.
Participate in Business Process Reviews (BPRs) for both new and existing clients.What You Bring:
A Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of training, education, and work experience.
Over 5 years of experience in the financial services sector, ideally as a developer, technical business analyst, or product owner, particularly in custodians, back-office securities vendors, or broker-dealer operations.
Strong knowledge of securities industry flows, particularly SWIFT MT/MX messaging related to trading, clearing, and settlement.
Hands-on technical proficiency in Linux, SQL, REST API integrations, and related technologies.
Ability to read and interpret interface specifications effectively.
Proven capability to analyse and generate scope and business requirements documents.
Strong aptitude for breaking down product-level requirements into technical work items.
Excellent presentation and product demonstration skills.
Strong analytical and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities while adhering to deadlines.
Strong interpersonal skills.
A responsible, dedicated, self-motivated, and dependable work ethic.Desirable Experience:
Working experience with various North American market infrastructures, focusing on back-office functions (e.g., DTC, CDS, NSCC, FICC).
Familiarity with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodologies.
General understanding of user experience constructs.
Experience interacting with upper management and senior leadership.
Knowledge of additional messaging protocols, including FIX and Bloomberg XML.
Familiarity with European and Asian Settlement flows.
