Service Care Legal are working with a local authority based in Essex who are hiring a Contracts Lawyer to provide expert legal support on a range of procurement and contractual matters. Please find below further details about this position.
Role: Contracts Lawyer 
Location: Essex
Salary: £46,142 – £52,413 (Permanent, Part-Time, 2 days/week in-office)
Key responsibilities:
Draft, review, and negotiate commercial and construction contracts (JCT, NEC).
Advise on procurement strategies, legal risks, and governance compliance.
Support decision-making processes in line with Contract Procedure Rules.
Work independently on a varied caseload, with guidance from senior lawyers.Requirements:
Qualified solicitor or equivalent with relevant contract law experience.
Experience within local authority or public sector preferred.
Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple cases efficiently.
Strong understanding of procurement legislation and legal principles.
