Contracts Manager required in Manchester!
We are currently on the lookout for a Contracts Manager to join our Manchester-based client on a Permanent contract.
Our client specialises in Access Solutions such as Rope Access, Special Access, Suspended Scaffolding, Steeplejacking and more, with majority of their contracts being commercial works across the UK, so the role will involve some aspects of travelling for client meetings / site visits, and although it is very rare you may also be required to stay away from home, but this would only be for a day or so to make earlier meetings.
They are currently looking for a Contracts Manager to join their team, working on various contracts with values between £1,000 and £1,000,000 from start to finish.
The ideal candidate for this role will come from a trade background, ideally in rope access or something similar, however a general refurb and construction work background would be suitable. We are looking for someone with a good amount of experience with RAMS and creating project programmes.
Responsibilities
* Gaining a full understanding of the project by reviewing the quotes and liaising with Estimator, Site Supervisors and H&S Manager where required.
* Liaising with the Client to arrange and attend pre-start meetings, which will including reviewing building access requirements, H&S information, programme, scope of works as well as any queries.
* Ordering and obtaining all required materials prior to the job starting on site.
* Briefing the operatives on RAMS and scope of works.
* Bring the point of contact of Site Supervisor, operatives and the client for ongoing site queries and issues.
* Monitor the sites progress, labour and materials and ensure everything is running smoothly.
* Routinely meet with the client to discuss progress and follow up with email updates and/or Excel programme on larger projects.
* Log and price variations and monitor valuations if required.
* Updating Director and Operations Manager regarding progress updates for planning purposes.
* Liaising with suppliers to procure the most cost-effective materials and plant.
* Working with Sub-Contractors to obtain costings and monitor works on site.
* Carrying out all project admin using Microsoft Word, Excel and Project.
* Assist with all admin tasks within the office
* Collect materials from suppliers around Manchester and deliver to site
* Be willing to work on site on occasion where required
Requirements
* Surveying/building defect knowledge and qualifications. (Not essential, but very advantageous)
* Willingness to learn and get involved in all aspects of the business.
* Confident, enthusiastic and outgoing personality.
* Excellent written and numeracy skills.
* Previous office-based experience.
* Full UK Driving Licence.

* Salary from £45,000. (Heavily negotiable dependent on experience)
