We are looking to appoint a Contracts Manager to our Hydrogen Division. This is a key position for an experienced commercial professional with a strong background in engineering and construction contracts, ideally within the energy or infrastructure sectors.
The purpose of the Contracts Manager role is to ensure effective commercial management and reporting within the Division. This includes managing the commercial and contractual execution of all projects within the Division from award and until close-out.
Key Requirements
Essential Experience, Qualifications, and Competencies
* Degree-qualified Quantity Surveyor or Engineer with substantial experience in cost engineering or commercial management.
* Proven ability to manage engineering and construction contracts, including NEC, FIDIC, and IChemE forms.
* Experience across both pre-award (tendering, proposals, contract handovers) and post-award (contract execution, variations, invoicing, final accounts) phases.
* Strong leadership skills, with a track record of managing project costs, financial systems, and commercial reporting tools (e.g., EcoSys).
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively across internal teams and with external stakeholders.
Desirable Experience and Competencies
* Experience in the hydrogen or broader energy transition sector.
* Familiarity with ERP systems and project management software.
* Experience managing subcontractor relationships and commercial interfaces.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the commercial and contractual delivery of all Hydrogen Division projects from award through to close-out.
* Manage internal and external contract handovers and customer kick-off meetings.
* Oversee project invoicing, cost control, and financial performance monitoring.
* Provide commercial data and insights to support monthly management reviews.
* Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, and subcontractors to ensure commercial success.
* Supervise a team of Cost Engineers and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
* Support the Division Director with strategic commercial input and risk management.
