We are recruiting for a commercially focused Contracts Manager on behalf of a leading provider of surface solutions for playgrounds, sports facilities and public realm projects for a customer base that includes Local Authorities, Main Contractors, Play Equipment Manufacturers, Landscapers, Schools, Architects and Housing Developers across the UK.
On offer is a salary of up to £50,000 plus a bonus scheme that has the potential to increase salary by £6,000 to £10,000 based on performance. A Company Car or Car Allowance, 26 days holiday plus bank holidays, pension scheme and other company benefits.
As the Surfacing Contracts Manager, you will:
* Lead the delivery of surfacing projects from contract award to completion.
* Be responsible for overseeing multiple concurrently running contracts.
* Be ensuring profitability, timely delivery, quality control and customer satisfaction.
* Be driving commercial performance and managing risk across the business.
Key Responsibilities include:
* Taking full ownership of contract delivery from pre-start to final account.
* Managing all aspects of the project lifecycle including planning, resource coordination, subcontractor management and client liaison.
* Ensuring compliance with contract terms, specifications and relevant legislation.
* Monitoring costs, budgets and forecasts including reporting on financial performance.
* Identifying and managing contractual risks and opportunities to maximise profitability.
* Preparing and reviewing variations, valuations and final accounts.
* Being the primary point of contact for clients for both contractual and commercial matters.
* Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, suppliers and internal teams.
* Leading negotiations and managing expectations to ensure successful project outcomes.
* Collaborating with the planning, installation and procurement teams to ensure a smooth project execution.
* Overseeing site performance through effective communication with installation teams.
* Ensuring adherence to Health & Safety regulations and quality standards on all projects.
* Delivering regular reports on project and commercial performance to senior management.
* Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and process optimisation.
To be considered as the Contracts Manager you will need:
* Proven Contracts or Project management experience within surfacing, construction, civils or a related sector i.e. landscaping etc.,
* Strong commercial acumen.
* Experience of managing budgets, cost reporting and contract variations.
* A strong understanding of JCT/NEC contracts and basic contract law.
* Excellent organisational and communication skills.
* Strong negotiation and problem solving skills.
* The ability to manage multiple projects and clients under pressure.
* To be proficient in MS Office and project management software.
* A full UK driving licence.
* To be happy to stay away as required (this role covers the UK and is supported by a Contracts Supervisor with further regional Supervisors planned as business grows).
If you have any of the following it would be advantageous:
SMSTS, CSCS, SSSTS or other relevant site qualifications.
Degree or equivalent in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or a related field.
Previous direct sector and customer experience.
