Avalon is currently recruiting for a Contracts Manager for a Not-For-Profit Organisation in Shropshire.
The Opportunity:
The position within the Asset Management team will be responsible for the delivery of an annual single investment plan across the organisation's property portfolio, with an emphasis on maintaining the Decent Homes Standard.
The successful candidate will:
* Deliver decent homes works as programmed, on time, within budget and with high customer satisfaction
* Ensure the effective procurement and contract management of contractors and make the best use of in-house and external delivery
* Undertake the role of Principal Designer under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015, ensuring that all key stakeholders are aware of maintaining compliance with health and safety legislation / best practice and safety standards and any legal requirements are maintained
* Maintain and use the Group’s Asset Management database, to manage contracts and ensure that the database is current, and that the Group’s asbestos register is up to date
* Managing appropriate budgets, including monitoring the effectiveness of consultants and contractors in respect of delivery cost and quality of work.
* Overall responsibility for the contracts management module within the asset management system
* Have knowledge and understanding of contract administration and a range of contract types (i.e. NEC, JCT etc.)

* Full Time at 35 hours per week
* £50,051 per annum
* Permanent
Requirements:
* Social Housing / Public Sector experience
* Full UK drivers licence with access to a vehicle
* Building Maintenance/ construction degree, OND, HND or equivalent
* Professional qualification (or working towards) e.g. RICS, CIOB, RIBA –or equivalent.
* Hold BOHS – P405 Managing Asbestos in Buildings
* NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety
