Job Description
Avalon is currently recruiting for a Contracts Surveyor for a Not-For-Profit Organisation in Shropshire.
The Opportunity:
This is a key position in the Investment Team supporting the Contract Manager in taking responsibility and leading on the delivery of a variety of the group’s investment projects to pre-defined time, quality and cost criteria within the group’s investment plan
The successful candidate will:
* Prepare specifications and procure works in accordance with the company’s standing orders for assigned projects across multiple work types and trades, coordinating with consultants and local authorities as necessary.
* Act as Principal Designer under the Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015. Prepare pre-construction health and safety information packs, issue F10 notification to the HSE and ensure that contractors’ construction phase health and safety plans, risk assessments and method statements are suitable so that the works can proceed.
* Ensure that the group’s leaseholders are involved in all decisions that affect them and their homes in line with relevant leasehold legislation, e.g. – Section 20, and group policy and procedures. This includes preparing documentation in relation to leaseholder / service rechargeable works
* Ensure that all Planning and Building Control approvals are acquired and recorded for proposed works and that consideration is given to any relevant management agreements.
* Act as Main Contractor on selected assigned projects where the group is carrying out management contracting and act as Principal Contractor under the Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015 on those projects
Further information:
* Full Time at 35 hours per week (Hybrid Working)
* £42,483.25 per annum
* 12 Month Fixed Term Contract
Requirements:
* Social Housing / Public Sector experience
* Good knowledge of computer systems especially Microsoft Word and Excel as well as experience of using asset management databases and computer-aided design (CAD).
* Full UK drivers licence with access to a vehicle
* Building Maintenance/ construction degree, OND, HND or equivalent
* Professional qualification (or working towards) e.g. RICS, CIOB, RIBA –or equivalent
* NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety
