Control Room Operator (Telemetry / Water Network) Location: Coventry (Head Office) Contract Type: 2-Month Contract (Possible Extension to 6 Months) Pay Rate: £21.44 per hour Recruitment Partner: Morson Talent About the Role Morson Talent are proud to be recruiting on behalf of Severn Trent, who keep water flowing for 4.8 million households and businesses across the heart of the UK — 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We’re currently seeking a Control Room Operator to join Severn Trent’s Network Control team based in Coventry. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in control rooms, emergency services, incident management, or analytical environments who thrives in a fast-paced, problem-solving setting. You’ll play a key role in monitoring Severn Trent’s wastewater network, responding to telemetry alerts, and ensuring essential services continue to operate efficiently. Key Responsibilities Monitor and manage eSCADA telemetry alarms to ensure the effective operation of wastewater assets. Respond to asset failures and network incidents, coordinating actions to maintain service levels. Analyse live network data to proactively manage the wastewater system and minimise disruptions. Communicate with internal teams, including Customer Contact and Incident Support, to ensure prompt and effective resolution of issues. Work as part of a 24/7 shift pattern (including weekends and bank holidays) within a collaborative control centre team. Please note: The first two weeks will be Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm for training. What We’re Looking For Experience in a control room, emergency response, or incident management environment. Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage multiple priorities. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams. Experience within the water or wastewater industry, or knowledge of hydraulic networks and telemetry systems, would be beneficial but is not essential. Full training will be provided.
