Job Description
Innovo Global Talent is currently working with a forward-thinking engineering business specialising in automation, robotics, and cutting-edge control systems for clients across multiple industries. With a strong reputation for delivering high-quality solutions, we are looking to expand our skilled engineering team with a talented Controls Engineer who has expertise in Siemens automation systems.
The Role:
As a Controls Engineer, you will take the lead in designing, programming, and commissioning automation control systems using Siemens hardware and software. You will work closely with our project, design, and commissioning teams to deliver tailored automation solutions that meet client needs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design, develop, and implement control systems using Siemens PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems (e.g., S7, TIA Portal, WinCC).
* Produce detailed control system documentation, including functional design specifications, I/O lists, and wiring diagrams.
* Carry out system testing, fault-finding, and troubleshooting during development and commissioning.
* Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and project engineers to integrate automation solutions.
* Provide technical support during installation and after-sales service.
* Ensure compliance with relevant safety and industry standards.
Key Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Controls Engineer with strong knowledge of Siemens PLC programming (S7, TIA Portal).
* Experience in Siemens HMI/SCADA systems (WinCC, WinCC Flexible).
* Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Willingness to travel to client sites for commissioning (UK and occasionally international).
* Degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent in Electrical/Control Engineering (advantageous).
Desirable:
* Knowledge of other automation platforms (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Beckhoff) is beneficial.
* Experience in material handling, robotics, or industrial automation sectorsBefore You Apply
