Job Description
We are currently seeking an experienced Controls QA Engineer to support a major Power Generation project serving a hyperscale Data Centre development in Dublin. This role is heavily focused on Building Management Systems (BMS), Generator Control Systems, SCADA, PLC integration, automation, and controls commissioning within a mission-critical environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with commissioning teams, vendors, contractors, and the end client to ensure all control systems are tested, validated, documented, and handed over in accordance with project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and support Controls QA and Commissioning activities across power generation and associated infrastructure systems.
* Review and maintain controls turnover documentation, test packs, and commissioning records to ensure compliance and traceability.
* Coordinate commissioning activities for:
* Generator Control Systems
* PLC-based Control Systems
* SCADA Systems
* BMS Integration
* Power Monitoring Systems (PMS)
* Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS)
* Synchronisation and Load Sharing Systems
* Witness and support Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and Integrated Systems Testing (IST).
* Develop, review, and execute controls commissioning scripts and functional performance tests.
* Validate communication protocols including:
* Support cause-and-effect testing, alarm verification, interlock testing, sequence of operation validation, and control logic troubleshooting.
* Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, and automation teams during commissioning and handover phases.
* Track commissioning progress through project management platforms and maintain accurate reporting.
* Ensure all testing and commissioning activities comply with project specifications, client standards, and industry best practices.
Requirements
* Strong experience in Controls Commissioning, Automation, or Controls QA within mission-critical, power generation, industrial, or data centre environments.
* Experience commissioning and troubleshooting
