Conveyancing Legal Secretary
Are you a legal secretary, assistant, or ambitious graduate looking to build a career in residential property law?
We’re working in partnership with a well-regarded, small private practice firm based in the heart of Tunbridge Wells, known for its supportive environment and quality client work. Due to continued growth, they’re now seeking an additional Conveyancing Legal Secretary or Assistant to join their friendly and experienced team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who’s either looking to further develop their legal support experience or take their first step into the legal profession. While the role will initially focus on administrative and secretarial support (including dictation), there is plenty of room to grow—whether into a more hands-on assistant role or eventually into a fee-earning position for those keen to progress.
What you’ll be doing:
Providing administrative and secretarial support to a busy residential property team
Audio typing/dictation and preparation of legal documents and correspondence
Opening and closing files, handling Land Registry forms, searches, and other routine paperwork
Liaising with clients, solicitors, and third parties in a professional and friendly manner
Supporting the wider team in ensuring transactions progress efficiently
What we’re looking for:
Previous legal secretarial or administrative experience in a law firm is ideal, but not essential
Alternatively, a bright, organised graduate with strong attention to detail and a genuine interest in legal work
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proactive, team-focused attitude with a willingness to learn and get involved
Strong IT and typing skills (audio typing experience would be helpful)
Location & Working Pattern:
This is a full-time, office-based role located in central Tunbridge Wells. The office is easily accessible by public transport, and while there is no on-site parking, there are nearby options available.
Salary & Benefits:
Competitive salary of £25,000 – £30,000 depending on experience
