Are you a proactive Cook ready to contribute to a school's commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals? A distinguished mixed independent school in Islington, educating children aged 3 to 14, is seeking a committed Cook for a temporary, 0-hour contract beginning this September, offering 6 hours of work per day (days to be confirmed).
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and execute the cooking of varied, wholesome, and appealing meals for our 3-14 year old pupils, strictly observing all dietary requirements and exacting hygiene standards.
* Maintain an immaculate and safe kitchen environment, consistently adhering to all food safety protocols.
* Oversee efficient inventory rotation, actively work to minimise food waste, and provide support with procurement tasks.
* Collaborate constructively with the school team to cultivate a pleasant and conducive dining experience for all students.
What We're Looking For:
* Essential: A minimum of Level 3 in Food and Hygiene qualification; individuals currently enrolled in a relevant training programme are also encouraged to apply.
* Previous experience as a Cook within a school setting or similar large-scale catering operation is highly advantageous.
* A genuine enthusiasm for preparing high-quality, appetising food specifically suited for children.
* Comprehensive knowledge of, and strict adherence to, all current food safety and hygiene regulations.
* The ability to manage responsibilities independently while also contributing positively to a team, demonstrating flexibility with scheduling.
