Do you have a flair for crafting delightful and wholesome food for children? A vibrant mixed independent school in Islington, serving pupils aged 3 to 14, is seeking a talented Cook for a temporary, 0-hour contract starting this September, providing 6 hours of work per day (days to be confirmed). Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee the preparation and cooking of diverse, healthy meals for our student body aged 3-14, ensuring all specific dietary needs and rigorous health standards are met.
* Maintain impeccable standards of cleanliness and safety within the kitchen environment consistently.
* Efficiently manage food stock, minimise wastage, and assist with placing necessary supply orders.
* Collaborate seamlessly with the wider school team to ensure mealtimes are a positive and enjoyable experience for all children.
What We're Looking For:
* Possession of a Level 3 in Food and Hygiene qualification as a minimum; candidates actively pursuing this qualification will also be considered.
* Prior experience as a Cook in a school or similar high-volume catering setting is advantageous.
* A genuine passion for producing nutritious and delicious food that appeals specifically to children.
* A comprehensive understanding of all current food safety regulations and best practices.
* The capacity to work both autonomously and as part of a collaborative team, demonstrating adaptability regarding working patterns.
