Job Title: Management Accountant – Fixed-Term Contract
Location: Derby, UK
Contract Type: Fixed-Term (Finish March 2026)
Company Overview:
Partnering with a well-established and growing manufacturing business based in Derby, committed to innovation, quality, and continuous improvement. As part of our ongoing transformation and development, we are looking for a talented and commercially minded Management Accountant to join our finance team on a fixed-term basis.
Role Overview:
The Management Accountant will support the Finance team in delivering accurate financial reporting, cost analysis, and performance insights for operational decision-making. This role is crucial in managing the month-end process, producing management accounts, and ensuring the integrity of financial data within a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare timely and accurate monthly management accounts
Support month-end and year-end closing activities
Perform detailed cost and variance analysis (labour, materials, overheads)
Monitor and analyse manufacturing KPIs and production costs
Work closely with operations and supply chain teams to improve cost controls
Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis
Maintain standard costing systems and recommend improvements
Reconcile key balance sheet accounts and support audit preparation
Support process improvements and internal control development
Ad-hoc analysis and financial reporting for senior stakeholdersKey Requirements:
Part-qualified or qualified accountant (ACCA / CIMA / ACA or equivalent)
Proven experience in a manufacturing environment
Strong understanding of management accounting principles
Experience of working alongside an operational management team.
Good knowledge of Excel Essential.
Systems Experience (pref. Oracle R12)
