We’re recruiting a Cost Engineer to join a high-performing team delivering one of the UK’s largest and most complex energy projects. This role offers the chance to work on a high-profile programme shaping the country’s low-carbon future.
About the Role
You’ll take ownership of cost control for significant work packages or projects, managing budgets, forecasts, and performance reporting to ensure delivery on time and to budget. Working closely with project teams and stakeholders, you’ll implement robust cost management systems, provide accurate data for decision-making, and support change control processes in a fast-paced, high-profile environment.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain project cost control systems, processes, and reporting.
*
Create and manage Cost Breakdown Structures (CBS) and align budgets with Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
*
Produce accurate forecasts, accruals, and cost performance reports.
*
Support change control by providing detailed cost impact analysis.
*
Validate supply chain data and challenge variances.
*
Ensure compliance with NEC or FIDIC contract requirements.
*
Contribute to integrated project controls alongside scheduling, risk, and change teams.
Key Requirements
*
Strong cost engineering experience in major infrastructure or energy projects (nuclear experience advantageous).
*
Expertise in Earned Value Management (EVM), cost forecasting, and performance reporting.
*
Familiarity with NEC or FIDIC contracts.
*
Ability to obtain BPSS security clearance.
*
Membership of a relevant professional body (or working towards it).
