Job Description

Our Client, a leading engineering and design consultancy, is seeking a Cost Manager/Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Belfast. Experience Required for Cost Manager/Quantity Surveyor: - A Cost Management or Quantity Surveying Qualification or similar. - Minimum of three years post graduate experience. - Commercial, quantity surveying, and/or finance skills, with working knowledge of the construction industry, and experience of working with NEC form of contract. - Technical experience in Cost Management services across complex infrastructure. - An understanding of industry benchmarks / best practices, Cost and Work Breakdown Structures, and methods of measurements. - Growing network within the infrastructure sector. - An aptitude to apply innovation, technical excellence, and exceptional service delivery. - Experience of monitoring, analysing, and controlling cost performance against set targets. - Examples of identifying/applying cost efficient solutions. - Awareness of the challenges and opportunities in the industry. - Awareness of performance measurement of projects using Earned Value Management (EVM) and similar techniques. Job Responsibilities: - Reporting into the Head of Cost Management leadership team, you will be a member of the Project Controls management team responsible for building long term, sustainable team relationships with both members of our own organisation, and wider Client base. - Support our Cost Management capability including development and use of Power-BI, PRISM, Oracle, Deltek, Ecosys and other Cost Management related software. - Engage our community of practice and support technical excellence, service innovation and development of our benchmarking capabilities. - Deliver excellent client service on our commissions through quality assurance and regular client care. - Support and lead your teams on project / technical delivery. - Support with delivering the strategy for the Cost Management Service including identifying continuous development. - Deliver an exceptional cost management service for multiple stakeholders. - Identify opportunities for growth, linked to the Complex Infrastructure business strategy. - Support with the Cost Management business development activity. - Opportunities to Support Key Account Management activities. - Engagement and understanding of internal business processes. - Support key accounts to maximise our impact - Having responsibility, under minimum supervision, delivering portfolios and projects. - Supporting with technical advice to different stakeholders. - Competence in project commercial accountability. - Have a developing knowledge of legal and technical matters relevant to the work you do, and the law of the region or country in which you practice. - Mentor and develop Assistant Cost Managers and Cost Managers . - Actively engaging within a project delivery environment
