Job Description
Service Care Solutions are currently working alongside a reputable law firm based in Blackburn, who are seeking an experienced Costs Draftsman to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional to take ownership of a varied caseload within a supportive legal environment.
Job Title: Costs Draftsman
Location: Blackburn (Office-Based/Hybrid – depending on firm requirements)
Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 per annum (DOE & interview performance)
Key Responsibilities as a Costs Draftsman:
Drafting comprehensive Bills of Costs across a range of matters, including both fast-track and multi-track cases
Preparing Points of Dispute and Replies in line with procedural requirements
Assisting with the preparation of costs budgets (Precedent H) when required
Attending detailed assessment hearings where necessary
Providing guidance and strategic advice to fee earners on costs recovery
Ensuring all work complies with the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) and relevant costs legislation
Managing your own caseload efficiently, ensuring deadlines are consistently metAbout You as a Costs Draftsman:
Proven experience working in a Costs Draftsman role
Strong working knowledge of CPR and costs-related procedures
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in drafting
Effective communication and negotiation skills
Ability to manage workload independently and prioritise tasksBenefits:
