Are you an experienced Council Tax Officer looking for your next challenge? We’re seeking a proactive professional to join our friendly, high-performing Revenues team.
This is a fast-paced, telephone-based role where you’ll play a vital part in supporting residents with all aspects of Council Tax billing, registration, and entitlement to discounts and exemptions — ensuring every customer receives clear, accurate, and empathetic support.
Key Responsibilities:

Handle a high volume of inbound customer calls relating to Council Tax queries
*
Register new accounts and apply relevant discounts and exemptions in line with legislation
*
Ensure full compliance with Council Tax regulations and local policies
*
Maintain accurate records and update information using the MRI/Academy system
*
Deliver excellent customer service in every interaction
What You’ll Need:

Proven experience working as a Council Tax Officer
*
Solid understanding of Council Tax legislation and procedures
*
Confident and professional telephone manner with strong communication skills
*
Experience using the Academy (Capita) system
*
Ability to work independently and as part of a hybrid team environment
