Job Description
The Best Connection are currently recruiting for a Counter Balance Forklift Operative with a mechanical mind to join our client. Our client are a leading manufacturer of high-quality security gates and perimeter protection systems. With a commitment to safety, precision, and innovation, they deliver secure solutions for commercial, industrial, and government clients across the UK and beyond.
The Forklift Operative will be responsible for safely operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to move, load, and unload materials and products throughout the production and storage areas. You’ll play a key role in ensuring smooth logistics flow to support manufacturing and dispatch of their Security Gate Systems.
Key Responsibilities:
* Operate forklifts (counterbalance) to move raw materials, parts, and finished products.
* Load and unload deliveries in a safe and timely manner.
* Transport security gate components between production, assembly, and dispatch areas.
* Ensure accurate placement and labelling of stock in storage areas.
* Perform pre-operational safety checks and report any equipment defects or hazards.
* Assist with stock control, including counting and inventory management.
* Adhere to all health and safety procedures and site-specific protocols.
* Work collaboratively with production and dispatch teams to meet delivery schedules.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of loading bays and warehouse areas.
The company is based in Crawley Manor Royal, and operate Monday to Friday with 41.5 hour weeks as well as overtime available. This is Temp2perm opportunity, with the hourly rate on offer starting at £12.75 per hour, increasing to £13.00 per hour if you achieve a permanent position.
Requirements:
* Valid forklift license or in-house licence required.
* Proven experience operating forklifts in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
* Good understanding of health and safety practices.
* Physically fit and able to handle manual tasks when required.
* Strong attention to detail and awareness of surroundings.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated.
