Cover Supervisors play a vital role in maintaining continuity of learning by supervising pre-set lessons during teacher absences. This role is ideal for aspiring teachers, recent graduates, or experienced educators seeking flexible classroom-based work.
Job Responsibilities:
Deliver pre-prepared lessons to students across various subjects.
Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment.
Ensure students remain on task and complete learning objectives.
Record attendance and report back to the relevant teaching staff.
Adapt to different school settings and follow school policies.
Cover Supervisor (CS) Requirements:
Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor (CS) or working with young people in an educational setting.
Strong classroom management skills and the ability to lead confidently.
A genuine passion for education and supporting young learners.
Excellent communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills.
A flexible, resilient, and proactive attitude.
Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
