GSL Education are seeking a proactive and dependable Cover Supervisor to work in schools across Sheffield, ideal for individuals looking to gain classroom experience or pursue a future teaching career. In this role of CS, you will manage classrooms during teacher absences, deliver pre-set work, and ensure pupils stay on task while maintaining behaviour and supporting learning in a calm, structured environment.
Responsibilities as a Cover Supervisor:
Supervise students in the absence of the class teacher.
Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and ensure student engagement.
Manage classroom behaviour and promote a positive learning atmosphere.
Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding student progress or behaviour.
Ensure a safe and respectful environment for all pupils.
Requirements for CS:
Experience working with young people or in a school setting is desirable.
Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
Ability to remain calm, professional, and flexible under pressure.
A genuine interest in education and supporting student success.
Enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
A CV covering the last 10 years with any gaps clearly explained.
