Cover Supervisor

£21,500 – £23,500 per annum (Actual Salary, Term Time Only)

32.5 hours a week / 39 weeks a year

A “Good” Secondary School in Watford, Hertfordshire are on the hunt for a Cover Supervisor for a September 2026 start. This is a full-time, and permanent position employed by the school.

JOB DESCRIPTION - Cover Supervisor

  * Supervising classes during teacher absences.

  * Delivering pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects.

  * Encouraging positive behaviour and maintaining an engaging learning environment.

  * Supporting students to stay focused and complete classwork.

  * Building confidence in managing groups of young people.

  * Gaining invaluable school-based experience before progressing into teacher training

PERSON SPECIFICATION – Cover Supervisor

  * Must have a 1st class or 2:1 degree from a reputable University

  * Strong communication and organisational skills.

  * Confidence working with young people.

  * A positive, proactive and professional attitude.

  * Previous experience working with children or young people is beneficial but not essential.

SCHOOL DETAILS - Cover Supervisor

  * Graded 'Good' in latest Ofsted report

  * Large Secondary School - Mixed gender and multi-cultural

  * Strong SLT in place - Fantastic Head Teacher who is longstanding
