Cover Supervisor – Secondary School
Smile Education are currently recruiting for a Cover Supervisor to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school in the Shropshire area.

Duties and Responsibilities
Supervising classes in the absence of the usual classroom teacher and ensuring students remain engaged with the work provided.
Delivering pre-prepared lessons and following lesson plans and instructions effectively.
Maintaining a calm, positive and purposeful learning environment.
Managing classroom behaviour in line with the school's policies and expectations.
Supporting students with their learning and encouraging positive attitudes towards education.
Ensuring students complete assigned tasks and remain focused throughout the lesson.
Providing feedback to teaching staff regarding student engagement, behaviour and work completed.
Supporting students with additional needs where appropriate and ensuring an inclusive learning environment.
Building positive and professional relationships with students and staff.
Carrying out general duties associated with the smooth running of the school day when required.The School Are Looking For
Previous experience working with children or young people, ideally within a secondary school environment.
Experience as a Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or similar role is desirable.
A confident, calm and professional presence in the classroom.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
The ability to manage behaviour effectively and maintain high expectations.
The confidence to supervise classes across a range of subjects and year groups.
Flexibility, reliability and a positive approach to working as part of a school team.
A genuine commitment to supporting students' learning, development and wellbeing.
