Cover Supervisor – Secondary
Location: Hertfordshire
Salary: £95–£130 per day, dependent on experience and qualifications
Contract: Full-time, Long-term Temporary
Start: September 2026 – immediate/as soon as possible

Teach Now is recruiting a capable Cover Supervisor for a secondary school opportunity in Hertfordshire.
You will supervise classes during teacher absence, ensuring pupils complete pre-prepared work and that lessons remain calm, focused and productive.
Responsibilities
Supervise KS3 and KS4 classes across a variety of subjects.
Deliver work prepared by the class teacher.
Explain instructions and keep pupils focused on assigned tasks.
Manage classroom behaviour effectively.
Record any issues and provide feedback to teaching staff.
Support departments and pupils where additional cover is required.
Requirements
Previous classroom, Cover Supervisor, TA or youth-work experience.
Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
Confidence supervising groups of secondary-aged pupils.
Good general literacy and numeracy.
Reliable, organised and adaptable approach.
This could particularly suit experienced Teaching Assistants, graduates considering teaching or existing Cover Supervisors seeking a new school.
