Cover Supervisor – School in Basingstoke, Hampshire
Do you enjoy working with young people and want to help them learn and grow?
GSL Education are looking for friendly and confident Cover Supervisors to support schools across Basingstoke. You can start right away or in September 2025. The daily pay is between £100 and £140, based on experience. It is ideal for recent graduates or anyone thinking about a career in teaching. If you are good at keeping a classroom calm and focused, this could be the perfect role for you!
In this role, you will be stepping into the classroom to help students with their lessons when the regular teacher is away. You will not need to plan lessons – just follow what’s already prepared and make sure students stay on track. The best part? You can pick the days you work, from one day to five days a week.
Responsibilities of the Cover Supervisor (CS):
Step in to lead classes when the regular teacher is away for a short time.
Help students stay focused and complete the work that’s been set for them.
Keep the classroom calm and follow the school’s behaviour rules.
Offer support to students who may need a little extra help.
Work closely with teachers and other staff to keep the school day running smoothly.
Take part in meetings, training, and school activities when required.
Requirements of the Cover Supervisor (CS):
Proven experience working with children or young people in an educational environment.
Demonstrated ability to manage classroom behaviour effectively.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
Patient, adaptable, and genuinely committed to supporting the educational and personal development of learners.
Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and contribute to a positive school environment.
An enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education.
